A/N: Bunny snuck up and demanded I wrote it. So I did.

He was cold and getting colder. Every breath was torture and he could feel his life drifted away quickly. Barely heard was the music on his radio and the sound of footsteps walking away. Slumped against his steering wheel, he prayed hard for someone to come help him.

"Warrick?" Gil's shocked voice sounded loudly in his ears. Desperately he tried to reach for his mentor, needing to tell him about McKeen but blood pooled in his throat, blocking all words. He could see McKeen walking up, heard Gil yell for the EMT's. Cutting his eyes over, he tried to tell Gil again, motioning with his eyes. He could hear Gil begging for him to hold on, to stay with him but he couldn't stay, he could feel his blood and life slipping past. Then there was darkness.

"Hey." He lifted his head and looked around, wondering where he was. "Get up Warrick."

A familiar figure walked into view, smiling down at him sadly. "Speed?" he whispered.

"Never wanted to see you here," Tim Speedle said, reaching down to help Warrick stand up. "But we don't get to decided when we die."

"Where are we?" Warrick asked, standing beside his friend.

"An in between place," a female voice offered from behind him. Turning around, he saw a small woman with full lips and dark hair. "Aiden Burns."

"From New York's labs?"

"Yep, or at least I was," she shrugged. "Got fired and then got myself killed."

"Got yourself killed?" he echoed.

"Went after a serial, the reason I got fired. He got me but I left enough evidence to catch him."

"Okay," he said slowly. "Why are we here?"

"To teach," Speed grinned.

"Guys, I just died, I can't stand the cryptic bullshit," he complained.

"When I got here I was told that we would be playing guardian angel's to some assortment of people. We just had to wait for all of us to get here," Speed explained.

"And are we?" Warrick asked.

"Yes," another female voice said as another dark haired woman walked up. She was taller that Aiden with an almost commanding presence. "Kate Todd. Former Secret Service and NCIS."

"How did you die?" he asked then shook his head. "Never mind, that was rude."

"You'll find that rude doesn't matter as much anymore," Kate smiled. "I was killed by a terrorist. Head shot."

"Was he caught?"

"And killed. By his sister no less," said Kate. "Come on."

"Where are we going?" he asked, following behind the three of them as the lead the way into a fog bank.

"To get our assignments."

"Don't I get a chance to get used to being dead?" he protested a bit.

"It hasn't seemed that long to any of us," Aiden shrugged. "It feels like we just got here too."

"Fine," Warrick sighed.

"Greetings," a new voice rang out of the foggy air.

"Who?"

"I'm here to give you your assignments," the voice seemed to laugh. "Speedle, you are going to L.A. Burns, I have you listed as going back to New York." She grinned. "No you can't talk to any of your old friends. Todd, D.C. And Brown, you're going to L.A. with Speedle, you two will be working together. Head out."

The fog disappeared and Warrick found himself standing behind Speed in front of an old hotel.

"Okay, according to the info I just got, we're here to help Angel Investigations," Speed said slowly. "Our main people are one Liam "Angelus" O'Rouke and one Alexander Lavelle Harris."

"And what are we suppose to be doing with them?" Warrick asked, staring up at the old building.

"Helping them."

"That explains a lot," he snorted.

"Alexander is in school to become a CSI, mostly ballistics. Liam runs AI. Both need our help in doing their jobs. Both actually deal with the paranormal," Speed told him.

"I put that shit behind me when my grandmother died," Warrick protested.

"Yeah, well the Powers on high don't seem to care," Speed pointed out. "Come on, let's go introduce ourselves to our new charges."

Fin. Maybe
